"I like the convenient location of the studio, its low-key friendly atmosphere and certainly the variety of classes offered which can challenge anyone from an absolute amateur to an experienced athlete.

My favorite class is ETC… as it is never the same, it is challenging and makes you use the groups of muscles that you hardly ever use.

I would recommend that new students come on different days of the week to check out all the classes just like I did at one point and then decide what works best for them. All of the studio instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly, and you will definitely enjoy the experience of Yoga on Whitney once you try it!" ~ Inna L.

"I was a beginner when I came to Yoga on Whitney and was welcomed and taught gently and correctly from the start.  I have experienced many lovely teachers; a great variety.  Each one has passed on their personal possession of practicing Yoga. I am grateful to many.

I have enjoyed being nurtured and encouraged to enjoy my practice at home as well as the studio.  I came to strengthen my back and walked away with much more.  I am blessed to be exposed to understanding truly living yoga and finding a restful mind and body in my practice through surrender.  My 6:15 am class has impacted me, thank you Tracie.

When I was a new student,  I was told to keep my eyes on my mat; I did.  That is what I would pass on to a new student.  Let it be your experience." ~ Donna M.

"What I like most about practicing at Yoga on Whitney is the caring teachers, the number of classes to choose from and the nice space.  Also the prices are very fair due to all of the specials.

I like all of the classes.  Since there are many teachers each class is unique and I look forward to each one I take.

Try lots of different classes. Tell the teachers your needs (although they usually will ask) and go at your own rate." ~ Dibbie C.

"The thing I love the most about Yoga on Whitney is the availability of classes for the students.  There are all types of classes offered in the early morning, morning and evening.  The teachers are great and I really like that each is different in the pratice that they teach.  There are no attitudes with the teachers or the fellow students -  it's like a little community.  I'm so glad to go to the classes;  I attend classes 3 to 4 times a week.   My family knows that my pratice is important to me.

I think it would be difficult to just pick one favorite class.  My top two classes are Vinyasa and the Pilates, Core & More!.  Both have toned me up and really have made me feel healthier.  I try to work out each day with a class at Yoga on Whitney or a run - yoga has made me a better runner too.

I would tell new students to the studio that they will really like the classes that are available.  Each teacher has their own way of teaching so there are variety of classes that would appeal to them.  I enjoy all of the classes.  I think once you start going on a regular basis, it becomes a part of your life so you make time for it.  It's very rewarding.  I love it." ~ Kris T.

"I love the variety of classes.  Yoga on Whitney has everything from pilates and traditional yoga classes to yoga/weight-lift type ones.  Regardless of ability, there's a class for everyone.  I also like the convinient location on Whitney Avenue and the friendly atmosphere.  It's a non-competitive environment and the studio is always clean.  There are classes 7 days a week, even on Sunday evenings!

My favorite classes are ETC and pilates.  I don't think that I would go back to a regular gym membership; I've noticed a significant difference in my posture, core strength, and weight thanks to Yoga on Whitney.

I recommend that you try a variety of classes to see which ones you like.  If you don't understand a particular pose, etc., don't be afraid to ask for help!  In time, you'll get better at everything.  When I first started, I didn't think that I was ever going to make it through plank pose or some of the tougher classes.  You'll build up an endurance and familiarity with the poses." ~ Nilani S.

"I like practicing at Yoga on Whitney because the teachers are excellent and I live close enough to walk to the studio instead of taking my car (weather permitting).

My current favorite class is two in a row - Yoga Dance followed by Gentle Yoga. (But, to be honest, I have enjoyed every class I have taken there.) And I have a favorite posture - Breath of Joy. I can do it any time and it really works!

New students should try several different classes to find a style of yoga or pilates that is comfortable and challenging for them and they should try to practice regularly. The consistent practice of yoga has improved the scoliosis in my back as I have increased both my strength and flexibility." ~ Joanne W.

"What I like most about practicing at Yoga on Whitney is the super staff.  They are knowledgeable and friendly.  My favorite class on the schedule is  Gentle Yoga.  Gentle Yoga is a gentle flow class with a nice balance between postures and meditation and I recommend this class to new students." ~ Sue F.

"I like the variety and different style of classes. I fit the classes into my work and home schedule, so if I have a free hour I will see if there is a class available. I like both the exercise / pilates classes and the more calming Yoga classes. I really like and feel good when I can start a day with an 8:30/ 9:00 am class and then end the day with an evening class. At some point I would love to try the Yoga Latte classes but for now they are just too early for me.

I donʼt think I can pick a single favorite class. I like different things from the different teachers. Some highlights I enjoy: lavender oil or orange oil applied at your temples for savasana, using props including weights and bands for the exercises classes, using a bolster or block for more challenging Yoga poses, and stretching/testing my limits with an "armapalooza" class (ETC...).

I would recommend trying out the different styles even if you arenʼt familiar with them. Also ask the teachers for adaptions to poses or stretches and also adjustments to your postures so you get the most benefit. When I started at Yoga on Whitney over a year ago one shoulder was sore from an ice skating fall. I realized a few months ago that it does not bother me anymore, and I am sure it is from all the stretches and work I do in the classes. Also I have knee concerns and the teachers are always accomodating and explaining alternate poses." ~ Joyce A.

"It has been a year since I started coming to Yoga on Whitney.  I truly look forward to coming every day.  I enjoy the atmosphere and all the students.  The teachers have become like family.  You can come on a day when you are not feeling great mentally and / or physically and leave feeling much better.  You find a certain peace coming here.

I can truly say that I do not have one favorite class - I enjoy them all.  Each class is a different experience.  They use different muscles and mental thoughts and by going to many different classes it is a total mind, body experience.  Each teacher teaches in their own way and that makes each class unique.

I would definitely tell anyone who is interested in coming to yoga to try Yoga on Whitney.  You will be exposed to many different styles of yoga and you will get to meet some of the nicest ladies (and some guys) in town.  It is just a truly wonderful place." ~ Sandy S.
